Services
Our Services
At Akeelah House Publishing, we write, illustrate, and publish children’s books that encourage self-discovery, confidence, friendship, and joy. We believe stories are most powerful when they come to life through meaningful experiences. Our programs help students connect with books through creativity, conversation, and hands-on learning.
Workshop Facilitation
Our interactive workshops combine books, art, discussion, and creative activities to help students build literacy skills, strengthen comprehension, and make meaningful connections to each story.
Author Visits
Meet the author and creative team behind our books. Students get a behind-the-scenes look at the publishing process, ask questions, and discover that they can be readers, writers, and creators too.
Nzingha Reads! Literacy Enrichment Program
Nzingha Reads! is an experiential literacy program that combines books, art, movement, and community experiences to strengthen reading skills and inspire creativity. Students build confidence, think critically, and discover the power of their own voices.
About
Culturally Responsive Children’s Books
Every title we publish centers representation, language, and joy, inviting young readers to see themselves and others on the page while supporting key literacy skills, critical thinking, and meaningful home–school connections.
